The best mentoring moments at a course usually happen between the lectures. At our Calgary FCE workshop, I watched this happen in real time.

Mentorship in rehabilitation rarely starts with a formal agreement. Most of the time it starts with a conversation over lunch, between sessions at a course, or while watching someone demonstrate a new skill.

At our Calgary FCE workshop, I watched experienced clinicians share stories about difficult cases, billing challenges, report writing, and career decisions with students and newer therapists. Those conversations matter. They shorten the learning curve and help people build confidence much faster than trying to figure everything out alone.

One of the best parts of in-person education is that the learning does not stop when the lecture ends. The relationships built during breaks, labs, and lunch often become future mentorships, referral networks, job opportunities, and professional friendships.

A strong profession depends on experienced clinicians being willing to share what they know, and newer clinicians being willing to ask questions.
This short video captures one of those moments starting at our Calgary course.
